It's been a while since I (or anyone) have posted, so here's an artist that I LOVE, and although he's not from Japan (China, actually), his work definitely reflects Asian pop culture.

Benjamin is a Chinese artist who has held many jobs as an animator, graphic designer, and painter (primarily digital painting). Although the computer is his primary medium, his work still retains the same sensual, purposeful strokes found in hand-painted pieces.

I just had to replace my icam photo, since it did the painting no justice.

You can read an interview of him at Guu Press!

hey, thanks for posting these. :> only recently became aware that such an artist existed. i haven't seen these particular works before and so you've made me quite happy !

extra note: Benjamin's work is currently on display as part of the 'Manhua! China Comics Now' exhibition at the London College of Communication (in obviously, London!); so if you live anywhere near enough/wanna get yourself down.. it's recommended you do so. 'u'

Wow! Thanks for sharing! :D

Does Benjamin have his own site? The link from the GP interview is broken.

Hm, really? It's pulling up for me! He does have a website, benjamin007.com, but it's no longer active!
